How can we help you?

Buffr ® is a sensor that helps businesses support their employees and guests in observing 1.5 m distancing. Buffr ® can be used indoors and outdoors. Buffr ® emits an audio alert (5 beeps) when 2 or more Buffrs are within a 1.5 m radius of each other.

Buffer ® has a diameter of 36 mm, weighs approx. 14 grammes, and can easily be worn on clothes thanks to a special magnet that comes with it.

Buffr ® is intended for businesses in the Healthcare industry, Offices, Hospitality establishments, Government agencies, Factories and the like, where all employees or visitors can be equipped with a Buffr ®. However, Social Distancing is also important in museums and zoos, as well as any at other location where closed communities spend time together.

Certainly, Buffr ® is based on CE-certified technology that is widely used by our group. Buffr® uses wireless 2.4 Ghz Bluetooth.

Buffr ® uses Bluetooth to detect other units within a 1.5 m radius and emit an alert. The distance at which Buffr ® detects other units may differ, as factors such as the environment, the way Buffr ® is worn, and the direction from which users approach each other may affect the  proper functioning and accuracy of the device. Buffr ® is at its most accurate when users wear it on their clothes and when it faces other Buffrs.

Pressing Buffr ® twice activates it, pressing it three times deactivates it.

Open the box, take the Buffr out and open it by holding the bottom and turning the top part of the Buffr against the clock. Then insert the battery with the ‘+’ side at the top inside the Buffr.

Then close the Buffr by placing the top back on the Buffr and tightening it clockwise “finger tight” (however no further than finger tight, the top of the Buffr must remain “clickable” for the product to function).

The Buffr can be turned on by pressing it quickly (within one second) twice.

The Buffr can be turned off by pressing and holding for two seconds.

Important, among other things to prevent unnecessary battery use. Control can take place in two ways.

1. By holding down the Buffr for two seconds (turning it off).

2. By pressing the Buffr three times in quick succession. If the Buffr beeps, it is on.

In the Buffr packaging you will find the magnet mounting for the Buffr at the bottom of the Buffr. This consists of a magnet attached to a rubber circle.

You slide this set off the metal plate of the Buffr and put it under your clothes with the Buffr to the front, which performs excellent in this way. After use, “park” the magnet set on the back of the Buffr until your next use.

This is certainly possible, but make sure that the Buffr is facing forward.

Buffr ® runs on the Renata CR2032 MFR, a high-quality Lithium button cell battery produced by Swiss brand Renata, a subsidiary of the Swatch Group. This brand was carefully selected to supply the batteries used in Buffr ®.

Starting from 1 July 2020, the Renate CR2032 will be available at Buffr ® and at many shops and suppliers.

Between 10 and 14 working days, depending on the number of times that a Buffr ® has been in contact with other Buffrs.

Users can contribute to efficient battery use by deactivating Buffr ® at the end of a working day or when it is not needed by pressing it three times.

Changing the battery is very easy and only takes a minute of your time. Hold the bottom of the Buffr ® and turn the top of the device counter-clockwise. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, with the   “+” facing up.

When the Buffr ® stops responding to other Buffrs, it’s time to replace the battery.
